Designer Show House – Home is Where the Heart Is

Good morning!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting the designer show home in Glen Cove, New York to see the assortment  of lovely and distinctly designed rooms. My favorite design in the home was the study created by designer Catherine Patterson Brown. The room featured lush colors and textures mixed with unexpected touches. As with any good design, the room was just as beautiful and it is livable. You could easily cozy up next to the fireplace with a good book.

As any designer knows, working with a room that is full of dark wood paneling can present many challenges. Taking this into careful consideration, Catherine chose beautiful light and dark accents accompanied by a ceiling finished with a gorgeous patterned wallpaper.

Sumptuous velvet pillow with Houles trimmings and a chic faux chinchilla throw.

Gorgeous draperies that evoke glamour and modernism.

The designer showhouse, “Home is Where the Heart is,” is located at 145 Dosoris Lane in Glen Cove Long Island, approximately 45 minutes outside of the city. The home is an 1890’s Georgian style home that is currently on the market for $5.5 million, just in case you have some extra cash lying around! If you are in the area please check out the show as it runs until December 1st and all proceeds go to benefit the American Heart Association.

Thanks for reading!
