The season has officially changed and we are full swing into the autumnal season! I love seeing the earth toned interiors that are being pinned on Pinterest. They evoke such cozy feelings and make me want to curl up next to a fire with good book! Chocolate brown and burnt orange are typically fan favorites for fall along with soft textures. Here are some inspiring interiors using these earthy tones in both traditional and unexpected ways.

I love how these walls almost have a terra cotta texture. It gives such elegance yet starkness to this stairway.
Burnt orange as a dominant color is unexpected, yet cozy and fun at the same time. You can’t help but feel happy when you look at this design.

This taupe, monochromatic bedroom exudes sophistication and sereneness.

The simplicity of this design is perfect for relaxing next to the fire. The yellow accents bring an unexpected pop of color and helps to put the finishing touch on the room.
The lush textures of this design are absolutely lust worthy!

How chic and sophisticated does this room feel? I would love to sit and chat here while sipping a hot toddy 🙂
Have a great day and thank you for reading!
“The thing about a tuxedo is that it is virile and feminine at the same time.”
~ Catherine Deneuve
The elegant lines of this style of sofa always draw my eye in any design. The tuxedo sofa is thought to have originated in the 1920’s in New York. What exactly is a tuxedo sofa? The basic requirement of any tuxedo sofa is that the arms of the sofa are the same height as its back. Pillows may be attached or loose depending upon the individual sofa; more often they are loose. The most modern version is a sofa with very straight, streamlined arms that are upholstered and may feature a slight amount of padding. Here are some examples…

So true. Proof of the strong correlation between interior design and fashion. Great design is great design; it does not matter the realm.
Have a great Thursday!
While sourcing for a client who is drawn to bright hues, I stumbled across an artist whose artwork I fell in love with! I am always attracted to more abstract artwork because I think it is a great way to tie together a room with various colors. These pieces are so colorful and playful they are sure to perk up any interior. Kristy Gammill is a emerging artist from Oklahoma and a mother of three. Walking out of my apartment this morning I was greeted by a blustery gust of northern wind giving me a curt reminder that old man winter is knocking on our door. The seasons are beginning to change and the interim between summer and winter is my favorite season of all! Today was the first crisp, clear day of fall weather in NYC and was the inspiration for today’s cozy, fall themed post.
The colors of fall are so beautifully vibrant. Nature really is the best inspiration.

Yesterday, after I arrived home from Spain, Pinterest sent me a teaser email since I hadn’t logged in for almost 2 weeks! Must be a record. It was time to get re-inspired and get back into the swing of things so naturally I went on a pinning spree. Here are some of my favorite pins; some of which are for current clients, some are holiday inspiration, and some are just photos that I like.
I love the pattern and monochromatic look of this greek key runner! And the cat is pretty cute too..
Wine tasting room by James Thomas LLC. I love the rustic-refined look of this room. This is exactly the look I am going for during the renovation of my apartment!
Everything about this room is perfect. I love the soft colors and textures used in the room paired with the more bold abstract art piece.
Using wallpaper on the ceiling is a trend that I am really liking. The gold and navy combination here is beautiful.
I am in love with this little object by Regina Andrew. I just purchased two for my apartment. I can’t wait for them to be delivered!
Fall is one of my favorite times of year. This centerpiece perfectly captures the essence between summer and fall.
I will definitely be trying this for my next Fall party to chill the wine!
Chillier weather calls for more cozy outfits and darker lips!
Have a great week!
