Restaurant Review – ABC Cocina NYC

abcd

Being a huge fan of ABC Kitchen, it was a must that I try the new sister restaurant ABC Cocina. It is attached to ABC Carpet and Home, one of my favorite design stores as well! I must say I was absolutely impressed by both the food and the decor. Although the wait was a bit long, it was well worth the time.

ABC Cocina is run by Michelin star chef Jean Georges and is focused on presenting a fresh and seasonal menu with eclectic and enchanting dishes. The interior of the restaurant is very inviting, warm and romantic. The vintage decor gives off a modern Victorian feel with an urban touch. Now, on to what we had to eat!

To start, we had the raw shaved fluke with green chili dressing. This dish was my favorite of everything I tried. Very fresh and light. Perfect start to the meal! Then we moved to the tomato salad with red onion, serrano chilies, sherry vinaigrette and fresh herbs. This was also a perfect, light summer appetizer.

For the entree portion I selected the BLT taco with house cured bacon, roasted tomato and arugula. The taco was savory and the perfect American take on the traditional taco. To accompany my main dish, I chose the roasted main lobster rice…Need I say more?

In addition to the sensory overload in terms of taste, I was also enamored by my surroundings. Take a look at this beautiful interior.
